UPDATE:
I researched several companies and Keisler is a NO-GO!!
They are rude and cannot do the conversions.
However:
American Powertrain
2199 Sumerfield Rd
Cookville, TN 38506
Can handle this for old Mach 1 owners.
They have a guru named Bret who I spoke to about this and he tells me that the transmission kit package is around $5,600.00
the kit will allow the installation with a few modifications on the transmission supports in the transmission tunnel.
Basically removing material on the upper section of the brace and recapping it to allow for the larger transmission.
Note: he tells me that the hole for the shifter on the top of the tranny hump will only have to be trimmed back towards the rear of the car about 1/8th of an inch.
Also a small notch will have to be made on the crossmember support.
The transmission can be set up for thier bellhousing at $500 bucks or the expensive adapter plate at $1,000.00.
He recomends the bell housing option.
Also due to the gearing on that transmission.
3:90 4:10 or 4:30 gears only to keep it in the power band.
Any higher gears like the 3:00 that I have would not let it hardly move....lol....so new gears for me is also a must.
If anyone is interested then contact
bret@americanpowertrain.com
Thier website is at : http//www.americanpowertrain.com
They also do engines (fuel injection, supercharged, normally aspirated)
Performance Pro Engines.
Now if you have a business they can set you up as a distributer for a wholesale cost of huge savings.
You would have to get a hold of a guy named Grey Frederick at American Powertrain. Note Grey is also thier head technician.
This is what I have so far.
