I did not read the whole article, but I keep hearing great things about the C4 on various websites. Apparently it can handle a decent amout of horsepower and hold up well.
The C4 in my 73 Convertible is original and never been rebuilt. I've changed the filter, fluid, and gasket several times over the years and did a simple shift kit modification and its still holding up fine now except for the rear seal leak.
The shift kit mod was cool, I did it back in the 70's based on an article in a book. Basicaly I removed the valve body, threw away a small ball, installed a cotter key and put it back together (anyway thats how I remember it now) I still have the book somewhere I should start a thread with the mod. The mod did give a much crisper shift with no lagging.

I installed a C-4 when I put the 5.0EFI in mine.I hope it holds up but Im confident it will.I plan on removing it though when my son changes his 86 GT to a 5 speed and use the AOD cause I want fuel economy Me and the wife plan on travel in it.
