That is a beautiful car. Well, 2 cars really, but I definitely prefer the Mustang. I have 2 boys who are now 4 and 7 years old. They both love my project car and can't wait for me to finish - and they can't wait to be driving it! These days I reckon a passion for old cars is an excellent way to keep a connection with kids, and it is healthy and wholesome and encourages family time, connection and communication. That can't be said for many things these days. Keep it up, it's great to see.

I'm not sure. The first start up is later this week. I decided to go with a posi rear end instead of spending the extra cash on a dyno session. My engine guy estimates (based on another stroker he did) that it should be around 500 ft-lbs of torque, but I'm not sure on the horsepower. His original comment was that along the lines of he didn't expect huge gains in HP, but big gains in torque. (I almost considered electronic fuel injection, until I saw the price tag. Supposedly that would bump up the power by about 70 hp.) However, I think this will keep me happy for the foreseeable future.

G'Day Peter. Yeah, we really enjoy using the cars. I never fully understood the sense of guys who'd chrome the rotors and everything else and then trailer their car from show to show. My 15 year old is turning 16 this summer, so he's been dropping hints big time. He's not learning on this though ... I'll make him drive some nondescript oval-shaped thing (which describes about 99% of today's newer cars) until he gets the hang of it - then he can try it out with me along for the ride. Maybe I'll let him take the 82 GT out if he shows me he can drive a stick. His school grades have a lot to do with it too, so he'll need to decide what he wants to chase more; girls or grades - the latter will get him into his own car if they're good enough.

I'd like to make it back to Australia some day. I was there in 2007 for two weeks (Sydney) and really enjoyed it. Almost made it to Christchurch, NZ a couple of years ago for work, but then their big earthquake hit about 2 weeks before I was to go. That ended that opportunity.

Take care,
Hutch
