Well done.
Measure, measure and measure again and still doubt the spot.

Thanks guys, yes....it was very nerve wracking cutting through that hood. I have never done that kind of thing before. I took my time, about 2 hours, and it worked out fine. The AC tag is from Mustangs Unlimited and cost all of 5 bucks. Its aluminum and its about the same price as most of the Ford plastic decals which I thought was really cheap.

Nice job...I will be adding hood pins to my car sometime soon. What methodology did you use to locate the hood pin so you knew where to drill your hole in the hood.

To be completely honest with you it was a bit of an adventure. I was teriffied of screwing up my hood and then having to explain to the boys at the body shop that I am a dummy and drilled the hole(s), in the wrong place. Obviously I would never hear the end of that, and rightly so. I installed the hood pins on the radiator support AS LOW AS THEY WOULD GO. Then, on the underside of the hood I put down a couple of strips of painters, (green), tape. Then I closed the hood and took note of where the marks were on the tape. Then the worrying and the drilling began. At 1st I drilled just a tiny pin hole on one side and I was surprised and pleased to see that I was on target. Mostly surprised. Okay, totally surprised. Then I went with a 3/4" hole saw and completed the job. Then I drank many beers. It was pretty easy all in all. I am also not all that bright so I think most people could do this pretty easily, with or without beer. Cheers from Canada. Rob Burton.

Thank you for responding...that is a great idea using the painter tape to identify your pin location and using a smaller drill bit as a pilot and test locator. Those are pretty "bright" ideas! Since my kit did not come with any instructions I will use your approach when I go to install mine.
Thanks again the information is very helpful to me!

Well done Rob.
That is exactly how I would have suggested to do it (no really - I would have).
Thanks for the documentation to help others.
Congratulations.
