The head light switch will get very hot around the instrument cluster dimmer ring.
Still feel the defect is in the 14290 wringing harness under the hood. Very rarely is the defect in the wires before the fuse, after the fuse, to the switch, Then out to the lights. Fresh looking tape on a 46 yr old car may be an indication of a repair somewhere down the line. Maybe not a good repair.
Oh bye the way, Does the car have a fold down rear seat, magnum 500 15inch Wheels, or a Rim blow steering Wheel in new condition ?
